Healthcare Costs Increasing Rapidly |
 Healthcare costs are expected to double by 2017 to exceed $4 trillion dollars a year.
Publicly funded healthcare spending (Medicare and Medicaid) is expected to account for half of this amount.
It is projected that $1 out of every $5 dollars will be spent on healthcare related costs, according to an article from the Associated Press. Healthcare costs will be increasing an average of 6.7% a year due to higher prices and greater demand.
